This International Women’s Day we had a host of amazing individuals and organisations fundraise to help us make equality for young women a reality. In this blog, we shout out 4 who have been inspired to do something a little different, to raise money and awareness.
Beth Wilkinson
This International Women’s Day, Beth Wilkinson, a financial planner in Yorkshire, kicked off her fundraising efforts for the epic rowing challenge she will be completing in May. Beth will be rekindling her love of rowing by challenging herself to row 200km in a month!
Beth was inspired to join the financial services industry by her mum. Her incredible role model has continued to inspire her to challenge gender inequality within the sector whenever she can. Beth ultimately hopes to inspire more young women to join the financial services industry.
Beth will be giving live updates on her demanding challenge throughout May on her Instagram account @beth_financialplanner. You can find out more about Beth’s journey and support her during her challenge through her JustGiving page.
Estella Bartlett
Our new partner, Estella Bartlett, sold their ‘Unlock Your Dreams’ pendant necklace with 100% of profits supporting our work with young women. We love that Estella Bartlett chose a design that contains a message of hope and possibility. Our free coaching service helps young women to unlock their potential and find out what motivates them, so this key pendant is a reminder of the talent and potential that we know all young women have.
We will be working with Estella Bartlett all year with some exciting new products to come, so watch this space.
Connells
Connells Survey and Valuation employees celebrated the women in their lives this International Women’s Day by creating a celebration page on JustGiving. We loved seeing their messages of thanks. Together, they smashed their target and raised £545.
This great employee fundraising idea was a great way for staff to celebrate International Women’s Day, make a lasting impact on young women’s lives and shout out the women in the business and beyond who have inspired and supported them.
Victoria BID
The team at Victoria BID organised a spectacular breakfast event at Banqueting House to celebrate International Women’s Day and we were delighted to be their chosen charity. One of the young women we support, Masego, attended and spoke about her experience working with Young Women’s Trust. Thanks to her inspirational words and the generosity of Victoria BID’s guests, their raffle raised over £2,000 to support young women.
