Join us in demanding protection for young women from unfair workplaces

Millions of workers in insecure jobs are facing low pay, unpredictable hours, and workplace discrimination. Young women are hit hardest, earning less than young men in these roles and often left feeling trapped and unsafe. Join us in demanding change.

The Employment Rights Bill is a step forward – but it needs enforcing

The Government is proposing more rights for workers and stronger enforcement under the Employment Rights Bill – and these are positive moves.

However, without proper funding for them to be enforced, these rights will remain on paper, not in practice.

Latest statistics on workplace violations

Our recent research reveals:

  • 51% of insecure workers of all genders have worked more hours than agreed
  • More than two thirds have faced discrimination
  • 46% have been paid late or inconsistently
  • 35% have been paid below minimum wage
  • 37% of young women in insecure work have put up with an unsafe environment because they were worried about not getting the hours they need if they challenged it.

Even existing rights are being routinely ignored, leaving workers powerless.

Underfunding of enforcement hurts workers and businesses

Without proper enforcement, rogue employers continue to exploit workers and undercut businesses that follow the rules. This isn’t just unfair – it’s bad for the economy.

Demand action: sign our open letter

We’re calling on the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, to allocate adequate funding to the Fair Work Agency as part of her June 2025 Spending Review. This investment is essential to:

  • Protect workers from exploitation and discrimination
  • Support employers who want to comply with the law
  • Ensure the new rights in the Employment Rights Bill are working in practice
  • Work towards closing the gender pay gap

Join us in demanding action. Young women deserve rights they can rely on.
